”Konchikichin”, “Konchikichin”… On July 15, we went to the “Gion Festival”. It was held for the first time in 3 years due to the influence of Corona. The students were excited because this was the first time for them to experience authentic Japanese culture. They were especially fascinated by “Yamaboko”, which is called “Moving Museum”.
Each class was divided into groups of 3 to 5 people, and challenged the orienteering to complete the mission to “take a picture of the designated Hoko and Yama” after passing the checkpoint. In the pre-learning, each group checked the timetable of the subway and the location of the “Yamaboko” on the Internet and maps, and made an action plan by themselves. First-year students who had just arrived in Japan could smoothly pass through each checkpoint without getting lost in changing subways! All of them successfully completed their mission.
